Unparalleled holistic care in the Park Slope community
Red Moon Wellness was founded by massage therapist, clinical herbalist, and childbirth expert, Lena DeGloma, in 2008 to bring unparalleled holistic care to the Park Slope community she has been rooted in for more than 17 years. Lena’s passion for holistic healing modalities rooted in traditional wisdom + supported by modern evidence, and the powerful transformation that takes place during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum are at the heart of our offerings at Red Moon Wellness.
WHY RED MOON?
Red Moon Wellness is trusted by NYC’s top Doctors, Midwives, Physical Therapists, OBGYNs, Chiropractors, Psychotherapists, and more. Here’s what they have to say about us:
TRANSFORMATION & HEALING
The red moon or blood moon is a rare but powerful event involving a full moon and a lunar eclipse. Eclipses symbolize beginnings, endings, and clean slates. Regardless of where you are in life – trying to get your health on track, struggling with chronic pain, looking to conceive, pregnant, postpartum, menopausal, or anywhere in between – we’d love to support you in transforming your health and feeling amazing in your body.
We’re so much more than just massage
You can get a massage anywhere. But our massage and bodywork is a culmination of skill, training, and passion for deeper transformation and healing.
Our mission is big…
We’re here to support individuals and families to achieve optimal health and wellbeing throughout all stages of life — with massage therapy, acupuncture, herbal medicine and bodywork for ALL. All genders, all body types, and all ages.
We go further with acupuncture, clinical herbalism, and nutritional counseling for a wide variety of health conditions, as well as education, support, and advocacy throughout the entire childbearing cycle from fertility, pregnancy, and childbirth to the postpartum period, lactation, and newborn care.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Do you take insurance?
We are happy to provide insurance receipts or superbills for you to submit to insurance if you have out of network benefits that cover manual therapy. We also accept FSA and HSA cards. Learn more here.
What is your cancellation policy?
Clients can reschedule or cancel appointments by giving at least 24 hours notice via a call, email or text message to our front desk. With less than 24 hours notice the credit card on file will be charged for the the appointment. Under some circumstances including illness or going into labor we provide make-up sessions for time-limited use. View our full policies for all services here.
Where are you located?
Our center is in the heart of Park Slope, Brooklyn on 5th Avenue between 7th and 8th Streets, conveniently located just 2 blocks from the 4th Ave / 9th St F/G/R train and 2 stops from Barclay’s Center with access to the 2/3/4/5/B/D/N/Q/R/LIRR. Click here for map & directions.
Please note we are located up a flight of stairs so if you require ADA accommodations please contact us prior to booking so that we can arrange to accommodate you.
Can you help me go into labor if I am past due?
Yes and no. We absolutely offer birth prep massage and acupuncture sessions to help stimulate labor for those who are near or past their due date and/or hoping to avoid a medical induction. However, babies only come when they are ready and even medical inductions aren't always successful at initiating labor if the body/baby aren't ready. This should be thought of as more of a gentle nudge than a "natural induction" (of which there really is no such thing). If the thing that is holding you back from going into labor is the baby's positioning or lack of descent into the pelvis that might be caused by structural imbalances or misalignments, then our birth prep treatments can be incredibly effective at getting labor started as your body will go into labor naturally on its own once this impediment is resolved. You can book now for a birth prep massage or acupuncture session to get started.
How can I find out which massage therapists are trained in the modalities or techniques I am seeking? Or who has experience with a specific health or orthopedic condition?
The best place to start is to browse our therapist bios on our team page here. You can also view all of our specialty massage modalities to find out which therapists perform which modalities (like who offers craniosacral therapy or intra-oral massage for TMJ for example). When you book online you can either choose your therapist or opt to be booked with the next available therapist.
If you just need to speak with someone to figure it out or you have a complex clinical case please contact our front desk and ask if you can get a recommendation from our clinical director for who will be the best fit.
Do you offer massage for children and teens?
Yes! Many of our LMTs work with children and teens. They can simply book a Holistic Massage as long as they are booked with a therapist who works with their age group. Here you can find out which of our LMTs who work with teens (13-17), kids (8-12), little kids (4-7), and toddlers (1-3). We also offer Infant massage, which is booked as its own service. Children under 13 must have their parent or guardian present in the room with them. Teens can optionally have their parent or guardian stay in the room if they wish.
Do you offer gift certificates or any special discounts for a package or series of appointments?
Yes we do! Gift certificates can be purchased on our website and you'll receive an instant e-certificate or have the option for your recipient to receive via email on a date of your choosing. You can also call to purchase over the phone or come in person if you'd like a card stock gift certificate. Gift certificates are valid for 9 years.
We also sell series of massages or acupuncture sessions which are valid for 1 year from date of purchase to help you save on a pack of multiple sessions. You can save as much as $140 on massage this way! More info on series here.
