As the Clinical Director of Red Moon—and as a longtime birth doula, lactation counselor, childbirth educator, massage therapist, herbalist, and mother of two—one of the things that’s always been important to me is finding ways to support families beyond the time they spend in our treatment rooms.
When I founded Red Moon nearly two decades ago, my vision was never simply to create a massage practice. I wanted to build a place where families could find thoughtful, evidence-informed, holistic support throughout pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond.
That’s why I’m so excited to introduce a new complimentary benefit for every Red Moon prenatal and postpartum client.
Through our partnership with Go Milk Yourself, our clients now receive access to:
- A complimentary 30-minute one-on-one prenatal lactation consultation with an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), designed to help you prepare for breastfeeding before your baby arrives.
- Complimentary monthly virtual lactation support circles, where you can ask questions, receive personalized guidance, and connect with other parents throughout your feeding journey.
There are no strings attached. This isn’t an upsell or a program you need to purchase or enroll in. It’s simply an additional way we’re able to support the families who trust us with their care.
Why lactation support?
Over the years, I’ve worked with hundreds of families as a birth doula, childbirth educator, massage therapist, and lactation counselor. One thing I’ve learned is that breastfeeding is rarely just about breastfeeding.
Sometimes the challenge is getting started. Sometimes it’s positioning, pain, milk supply, sleep deprivation, recovery after birth, or simply feeling overwhelmed by all of the conflicting advice new parents receive.
Many families don’t necessarily need intensive one-on-one care—they simply need a knowledgeable professional to answer questions, reassure them, and help them feel more confident. They need a place where they can ask, “Is this normal?” without feeling rushed or alone.
That’s exactly why I was excited about this partnership.
Why this partnership made so much sense
At Red Moon, I already offer lactation support—but it’s a little different from what many families are looking for.
My work has naturally evolved into the intersection of lactation, bodywork, herbal medicine, and holistic health. Parents often come to me for concerns like nursing-related neck, shoulder, back, wrist, or rib pain; nursing posture and body mechanics; infant bodywork; or questions about how musculoskeletal patterns may be affecting feeding.
I also work with families seeking a more integrative approach to concerns such as plugged ducts or milk supply. For example, when hormonal factors, thyroid function, blood sugar regulation, nutrition, or other whole-body health issues may be contributing, I can help develop an herbal and nutritional support plan while often collaborating with an IBCLC on the breastfeeding dynamics themselves. My goal isn’t to replace traditional lactation care, but to complement it by addressing pieces that fall outside the scope of a typical lactation consultation.
What I don’t currently have the capacity to offer is the kind of ongoing, general lactation or breastfeeding support that so many new parents benefit from—help getting started, reassurance that things are on track, answers to everyday questions, and a place to troubleshoot the common questions that arise throughout the feeding journey.
That’s exactly what makes this partnership such a wonderful fit.
Francie and the Go Milk Yourself team provide the broad, accessible lactation education and community that almost every new parent can benefit from, while I remain available for the more specialized concerns that align with my particular areas of expertise. Together, we’re able to offer Red Moon families a more complete continuum of support than either of us could provide alone.
More than massage
Whether you come to us for prenatal massage, birth preparation acupuncture, postpartum recovery, childbirth classes, lactation support, or simply a quiet place to take a deep breath during this transformative season of life, our philosophy has always been the same: care should continue beyond the appointment itself.
This new partnership is another extension of that philosophy.
How to access your complimentary benefit
This benefit is available exclusively to Red Moon prenatal and postpartum clients.
If you’ve received prenatal or postpartum care with us, simply ask our front desk for your access information at your next appointment. They’ll be happy to get you connected so you can register for the monthly support circles and schedule your complimentary prenatal lactation session.
If you’re already a Red Moon prenatal or postpartum client but don’t have another appointment scheduled yet, feel free to reach out to our front desk—we’re happy to help.
We hope this new benefit helps you feel a little more supported, informed, and connected throughout your pregnancy, postpartum, and feeding journey.
