Ellen’s massage sessions involve focused, deep work to effectively release points of tension with precision, while deeply relaxing the body and mind. Ellen has training in Swedish massage, deep tissue, Shiatsu, myofascial release, sports massage, trigger point release, and assessment techniques. Ellen is certified in prenatal massage as well as pediatric massage. She has experience working with clients experiencing a variety of neck and head syndromes including TMJ, as well as working with clients with Parkinson’s disease.
While completing her massage therapy training, Ellen had the privilege of holding massage therapy externships with the Hospital of Special Surgery and the NYC marathon. Ellen first became interested in anatomy & kinesiology as a dancer, which spurred her to develop an extensive understanding of functional movement in our bodies. Since moving to New York in 2014, she has expanded her knowledge of the body by pursuing dance professionally, and taking a multitude of yoga, Pilates, cycling, and other strength training classes, all of which inform her multifaceted approach to massage and bodywork.
