In Amelia’s client-centered practice, she applies her strong clinical foundation and a biopsychosocial lens in order to work with the body, not on the body. Amelia is highly skilled at focused trigger point, deep tissue and orthopedic work to release stubborn patterns of long-standing tension and pain. Her wide breadth of specialty massage skills includes intra-oral massage for TMJ, cancer / oncology massage, breast / chest massage, lymphatic drainage, and prenatal massage.
She has a background providing massage therapy to patients recovering from strokes and acquired brain and spinal cord injuries as well as experience working with geriatric patient populations. In addition, she has completed continuing education at Pacific College of Health and Science in Manhattan in Shiatsu and Reflexology. During sessions, Amelia holds space for clients to notice sensation as it arises, encouraging engagement with their embodied experience and allowing for greater somatic awareness. Her approach fosters agency and empowers her clients to be active participants on their road to recovery, maintenance, and general wellbeing. Her training as a dancer as well as her personal explorations into yoga, Pilates, running, strength training, and HIIT all inform her holistic approach with clients.
In addition to her role as a licensed massage therapist with Red Moon, Amelia is part of our front desk team while also acting as LMT Co-Coordinator to support our team of licensed massage therapists in a number of capacities including coordinating continuing education and professional development for our team.
