Abbey is passionate about the profound healing that can happen when people allow their bodies to relax and the importance of touch in modern society. As a professional dancer, Abbey was introduced to how powerful touch can be; touch is an integral part of learning and developing body awareness in dance, an artistic and storytelling device, and beneficial for injury recovery and prevention. After retiring from dance, Abbey acutely felt the absence of touch in her life and its effects on both her physical and mental health. This pushed her toward practicing massage therapy, where she can use touch every day to help people move more comfortably.
She meets each client where they are at, while using a blend of Western and Eastern modalities including Swedish massage, Tui Na, Thai massage, Shiatsu, deep tissue, myofascial release, stretching techniques, and sports massage. Abbey is certified in Structural Integration. She loves incorporating this approach in her sessions to help dancers, athletes, and other movers to discover deeper connections and more spaces within their body in order to move more intelligently.
